So it’s November. How utterly exciting. Plus the Timekeeper Gods have awarded us with an extra hour today, which just depresses me more, so let’s turn this misery around immediately.

Typical morning routine of a NaNoWriMo writer
Writing for National Novel Writing Month has had a bit of a rocky start. But, like many parents around the world, weekends belong to youth sports, so there’s that.
Still, since November 1, I have managed to churn out a small amount of the anticipated 50k total expected by the end of the month: alas, only about 2000 words so far. This NaNoWriMo thing…
…is irking me a bit. And I will complain about it in a minute 😛 but first, I wanted to share a couple of photos I took on the way to the polling station. Because…today we vote for a new federal leader, and my polling station was next to a college campus and I tell you, the colours and scenery were absolutely breathtaking. I walked the 25 min round trip and stopped to snap some photos.

NOT writing books during NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth
About a year and a half ago I started writing a memoir. I wrote it like I was possessed, the words flowing out of my head and onto my screen without too much trouble.
I didn’t edit. I didn’t re-read. I just wrote it out.
Then I stopped.
