Yesterday I went from feeling high (not that kind) and happy to crappy and discombobulated in a matter of hours.Continue reading “Truth and inspiration”
A really bad mood has overcome me today, just out of the blue. In the later part of the afternoon. Continue reading “Mood”
It has never been easy for me to accept a compliment. Maybe because I always sort of expected that I didn’t really deserve them…
Having said that, I’m getting better at accepting and thanking someone for them.
Then, something happened that completely blew me away. But first, a little preamble:
Yesterday was a horrible day. Just plain horrible and it got worse as the day progressed. I lost some crucial things I needed, including debit cards and health insurance (they turned up eventually) and ultimately I ended up making the family dinner, and went to bed at 6.
This morning I got attacked by a bird if you’re wondering how my day is going so far.
The other day in the car we were listening to a soft rock station and this song Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi came on. I’m not really a fan of this song (but I do like some of Bon Jovi’s stuff) but this stupid song has been in my head for three days. Help me! 😮
I want to go see the movie Bohemian Rhapsody with the kids but the kids are too young. Will wait for it to come out on Netflix.
I was on strike for a day and a half. When the shit hit the fan and everything fell apart on Monday afternoon I canceled practice to ‘help‘ a kid with math.
I can’t remember grade 6 math. 🙄 Continue reading “Random thoughts to get past a moody mood”
Negativity breeds more negativity, is what I’m hearing. Toxic people are negative people and no good will come from them.
Well I am here today to say that sometimes, we need to give ourselves permission to wallow in a bad mood.
There. I said it. Call it catharsis or whatever you want.
There are simply times when I just want to be left to it. Wallow, self-pity, woe is me.
I blame hormones. (But that’s another fun and exciting blog topic for another day.) 🙄 Continue reading “Permission to dwell in negativity: this too shall pass”
During the first few months of the new year, the north-eastern part of North America are immersed in a cold, dark existence that sometimes seems hard to face each and every day. A lot of things appear uninspiring and depressing. Fresh food is imported or greenhouse grown, a lot of people are sick with flu or strep, traffic is worse due to weather slowing us down…you know all that.
But instead of dwelling on the crappy-ness that is February up here in our time zone, let’s inspire each other with things that will help life our moods.
What inspires you during the dreary February months?
