Learning sex essays

I’ve traveled down memory lane back to my University dorm and wrote out a bunch of memories. There are now 4 essays posted on my If Not Now When publication under the Sexuality tab about my coming-of-age lessons in sex and sexuality. If this isn’t me pushing comfort zones then I don’t know what is! 😛 Your discomfort does not inhibit my creativity. I decided to cross-post the newest essay here on my blog for you to read in case you cannot access the Medium platform. I know they have a quota if you’re not a member or subscriber. More pandemic reflections while out on a stroll

The other day I was taking a break from the daily routine and took a walk around a park near a marina. The area is peppered with a few small, non-chain restaurants and bars, but they were relatively quiet since it was a weekday in the middle of the afternoon; happy hour wouldn’t begin for a while.

Age is just a number

When I posted that picture of me in pig-tails, thanks to the teen girl and her hair-styling implements, a couple of people commented that I look young. Note: I am not young. No, really. I’m not young. (Also, what is young?) As most of you probably know I am a mom of teens. I suspect that you think of me as GenX. I am. Life lessons: sketching nude models (part 2)

This post is the second part of a story I recalled while walking down memory lane. It involves a life drawing class with nude models. It may interest you to read part 1 first, and I would highly encourage you to read the comments, as well.

Given the interesting events of the first nude model drawling class, and the subsequent attention from a male student in a dorm, I spent the rest of my week fretting.

Partly I was intrigued about the the philosopher student’s offer to pose nude for me in the name of ‘practicing’ my sketching. But it was weird; he was a few years older, and he had a fiancée I had never even seen in the dorm.

Letting (her/yourself) go

Disclaimer: I understand that many/most people have bigger fish to fry while the world is falling apart than to sit and contemplate this vanity-induced post here, so if you do comment, please be kind (but still honest) – I have no qualms blocking anyone if you attack or put down someone’s opinion on my blog.

* * *

Once upon a time when I was young and stupid, I dated some people I shouldn’t have.

Recently, I reflected on some comments one of them made, that have me irked. (sorry not sorry)

Here’s one that surfaced today: Continue reading “Letting (her/yourself) go”
