Let’s say you have a friendship with a person who is not the same gender as you (and you are both heterosexual). Let’s say there may or may not be some spark between you. Let’s say the friendship is platonic and continues to be this way and is mutually accepted as such.Continue reading “What are friends for?”

The other day I initiated a break-up with a long-term friend I’ve known since my flight attendant days.Continue reading “Broken connections”
When I first started blogging, my now-16-year-old son was a baby. I’m on my third blog (and I have a fourth one in which I publish erotic fiction), so I’ve been around the block a few times when it comes to WordPress. Ha.
So it won’t be anyone’s surprise that I have made a few friends along the way.Continue reading “A tribute to blogger friendships”
Something has been percolating in my brain for a while, but I couldn’t find the words to talk about it on a public forum until today. Perhaps I will find the words if I simply type them into the keyboard.
It began with a syndicated episode of The Big Bang Theory. I see the scene in front of me but I can’t find it when I google it. It’s not so much the scene that made an impression anyway, it’s the phrase.
This is how I remember it (paraphrased):Continue reading “Old and ugly”

I got derailed this weekend.
When a friend asked me to be a beta reader for some chapters he wrote, and I said yes, I didn’t know it was going to derail me from my own writing.
Except, it didn’t really.
Allow me to explain. Continue reading “Writing catharsis”
Disclaimer: The following post is about an experience I had listening to a podcast. I am not advertising the blogs or podcasts on behalf of the bloggers, although I did link to them. They didn’t ask me to write this post; I came up with this idea all by myself. 😉 Also, be aware: this is a lengthy, wordy post. Exactly the sort of thing you would expect from me. 😉 Continue reading “Blending blogging with podcasts”
