Freshly harvested Swiss chard (and what you can do with it)

Do you know what Swiss chard is? Well, it’s not kale… And it’s not like kale, either.

Kale’s leaves are much tougher than the leaves of the colourful-stemmed Swiss chard. If I had to compare the chard to something similar, I would say it’s kind of like spinach.

So what does one do with this chard?

More creativity out of the pandemic kitchen

Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures. My phone obviously needs its eye cleaned…

I don’t have much fresh stuff in the house anymore (it’s been 7 days we’ve been staying home) and I feel too uninspired to venture out so I created a new salad with what I still have on hand.

Clearly, I’m not social distancing from my fridge as per my previous post… (ha).

More creativity out of my pandemic kitchen

So we’re keeping sane being under house arrest. Mostly by doing creative things. Like cooking. And art. And perfecting the art of Call of Duty gaming. (I don’t know…ask a teenager.)

Rice and corn casserole topped with cheese. Missing, greens…

It’s funny, really, I read about lock-downs in many places across the globe and they’re all talking about school work being assigned to children.

MINE have NONE.

Sunday chit chat

Did you notice I made my blog private today? It was me, not WP, and it was an accident. I was goofing around with something else, and managed to screw things up.

This is my head space today. Yay.

If it takes a fight then so be it

I made them dinner last night even though their dad wasn’t coming home to eat. Typically on those days, I let them fend for themselves or throw together leftovers.

Making dinner was relatively easy as I had pizza dough in the fridge, a foresight from two days ago to double the recipe. I am the queen of recipe-doubling! Ask me how many packages of ready-to-eat Mexican beef, pasta sauces, or meatballs I have in my freezer. 🙂
