This If Not Now, When journey is adding more than just a few twists and turns. There are multiple roundabouts, construction detours and potholes all along my path which has left me quite pumped, frankly. 🤸
And a little overwhelmed. 😱
Let me share some of the things that have been happening. First, the business ventures, and next, the other, personal stuff.
Boldly Chic Boutique on etsy
I am busy stocking my shop with new items. Choose among personalized zodiac necklaces, diffuser fashion jewelry featuring porous lava rock beads, the new and ever expanding Purple Witch collection just in time for Halloween, various earrings and even some birch bark (for my dedicated Tarot followers who might be interested in that). The birch bark has a lot of hits – people use it for decorating, manifestation rituals and for crafts. I appreciate all of you who helped boost my traffic by clicking on my shop, favoriting it and liking some of the pieces. THANK YOU to the moon and back. 🛫🌜🛬
Tarot – extended readings
I did a tarot reading yesterday and inaugurated my new Chakra Tarot cards into the reading. Any of you Libras, Libra ridings or Libra ascendants may want to check out the extended Libra season reading is a regular size PDF available in my shop. If you haven’t already, check out some of the free readings (timeless) posted in there, and don’t forget to subscribe so you will know when I present my next extended reading. ♎⚖️♎
Note: I am not (yet) set up to do live private readings but I can do a personalized one if you wish in PDF format. Go to my shop, subscribe, and send me a message with your request and I will respond.
Reminder: to access a free PDF or slideshow/mobile video, you must enter 0 in the price point. Also, you can load it into your kindle or download it to your device. I did both several times, it works fine.
Mobile friendly PDFs are the same information only in larger fonts. If you’re one of those people who reads all your content on your phone, it may be more effective to load the mobile friendly version rather than the regular size PDF. The latest reading for Libra season will be converted into a mobile friendly PDF before the end of this weekend. If you subscribe, you will be notified when it’s ready.
I have set up a small trip up to my Alma Mater where my niece attends University. My son and I have plans to meet up with her and have a look at the campus. This trip is still unconfirmed at this time, but I’m hopeful we can go. I love my old campus! Every time I went to pick up my niece last year I had a strange sort of homecoming feeling. 🥰
It’s kind of mind-bloggling that my son is in grade 12 and looking at next steps which includes a potential move out of the house. How did this happen so fast? I can’t believe we have reached this point of decision making after the two horrible years of lockdown. But now, we’re looking onward and forward. I don’t know if my son will apply to my Alma Mater, but he hasn’t seen any University yet and with his cousin offering a tour, I figured why not take the opportunity and give him the exposure?
Bonus: he can drive up there on a new highway. 🚙
The other teenager, who is turning 15 shortly, has a part-time job in a bakery walking distance from her home. So fun! She even makes sandwiches her dad buys occasionally for her older brother who prefers to eat those for lunch than a home-made one.
The latest update is that my son is now driving to school with his sister if their dad doesn’t require the car. My car, of course, is with me in the suburbs, but since their dad is still teaching virtually from the basement office, there is little reason to say no to them driving to school on their own. I bet my boy is very happy to have this sense of freedom extended to him.
Meanwhile, I’m here doing and working and writing and marketing and selling and creating and cleaning and colouring my hair. Did you know I’m going grey? I’m going grey and yes, I buy the box when it’s on sale and every two weeks make a mess of the bathroom while I hide my roots. The joys of being in your 50s never ends.
The other thing I do is work out about three times a week, sometimes four. Yesterday, I did a double whammy: I turned on my Asana Rebel app and selected Shred It which is a 24 minute workout and includes a bunch of burpees, planks and side planks. Remember when I first posted about this back in January 2022?
I can still do them and hold for 6 seconds each side; only difference is I do them outside now, at least for as long as the weather remains pleasant. Yesterday, though, was cool, almost chilly. I got rained on, then the sun came out, then the wind picked up, then it rained again… It might be time to move back into my mom’s rec room downstairs soon. Boo.
Later, I spent the entire day working on my Etsy shop when I suddenly had a deep desire to do some heavy exercising and deep breathing. I got my bike ready and took off down to the harbour. You can see the little video clip I made here. 🚴
WELL. On the way home the wind picked up from Lake Ontario and twisted and turned into the opposite direction, meaning, it was in my face the entire way back to the house. I figured I’d be really sore today in the butt and legs, but surprisingly I don’t feel it much. I think all this working out I’ve been doing for the past year prepared me to handle these challenges better, and for that, my friends, I am grateful. If you’re a long-time reader of mine then you know I’ve struggled with body aches and pains in the past. But that is all behind me now, no small feat for a chick in her 50s who wasn’t able to complete a yoga session without taking numerous breaks (and weeping in the corner and throwing in the towel). 🧘♀️
What I’m saying is, small steps to start will build a habit. Once the habit is rooted, you will start to miss the exercises when you don’t do them, and it won’t feel like a chore but rather an event to look forward to. I didn’t believe this at first, I never liked exercise, formal or otherwise. But an aging body that is sore all the time is no fun, so I gritted my teeth and started up with mostly stretches. And now I feel better than I did in my 30s and 40s.
My advice is to try things, take it slow, baby steps, and find the one that works. Then, stick with it for at least a month at which point you can send me a message and say “you were right, it works”. 😛
So, that’s my update for today. Thank you for dropping my my blog and reading my words. I appreciate your readership and if you like, comment, subscribe and share my links, I thank you again for your support.
