Today I listened to an online advisor who suggested different methods of clearing negative energy.
I wasn’t feeling particularly negative today, to be honest, but I still listened to her advice. Because… I was about to tackle the two hall closets at my family’s house where I’m spending a few days, and there’s always something to purge, clean or clear out when there are kids around, am I right? This sometimes launches me into negative headspace – the amount of clutter and debris that is allowed to accumulate when I’m not here to manage it quickly spirals out of control.
So her advice was perfect for me.
How to clear out negative energy
- clean something in your physical life (like I did with the purging of the hall closets)
- clear your mind with an internal exercise (I meditated this morning)
- take a shower (I did that earlier and likely will again later because dirt) 😛
The fact that it is a beautiful, dry, sunny and relatively warm spring day today was immensely helpful. Because…
…my signature cleaning/purging method is to tear everything out of the closets and throw it a outside. Ha. 🤷♀️
This time however, I didn’t treat the neighbours to our clutter on the front lawn. Instead, I sorted and purged carefully with various piles for donation, garbage or to keep. The stuff that needed to be aired out, swept, shook out or sprayed down was thrown onto the back porch which is private, fenced and supervised by Sir Tucker the Beaglehound.

If you head on over to Instagram you will be treated to his superior monitoring abilities on a completely different but very beagleish level. 😛
I’m typing this while sipping tea on my new deck, courtesy of my father’s inheritance from two years ago. I moved a chair I selected and purchased last year into a sunny spot by the steps because it’s still cool in the shade.

I’m getting a haircut today. Both my girl and I have appointments. She needs a major overhaul on some self-styling activities requiring some corrections, and I need a trim.
The purging from earlier went well, but the amount of dirt I swept up from inside the shoe closets, after half a year of winter, was disgusting.

The purge will continue over the weekend since everyone is either busy, out of the house, or both. 😎
I’m back in SAHM mode for a while. Work, writing and jewelry has been pushed on the back burner. Perhaps, if the weather holds, I may even do a little bit of gardening.
Thank you for reading my post today! See you in the comments.
Cleaning and organizing makes me feel instantly productive and happy!
You look pretty and content, resting up after a job well done! good for you!
Seeing pictures of Tucker always make me smile.
Blessings!

Sounds like a very productive day! I have gotten away from using my daily planner and that always makes me feel like I’m wasting time. You’ve inspired me to to create a plan for this week, clean something physical and internal, got it

Dude, that’s nothing! Be thankful you don’t live with chalk dust🙄🤦🏼♀️
I’m so happy you got sunshine!!🌞 It rained here last night, and of course I had the house open for air. 3am, I’m running around shutting things🤪😂😂

I have many new banner thingies which are part of my social media branding thingie… I’ll show you later. 😉
That dirt pile was just the dirt from the bottom of the closet. I spared the internet the rest of the debris. 😭
But yes, chalk dust must be difficult to live with… 😳
Thank you for the email. I’ll respond later or tomorrow, and expand on some of this. 😉

I hate cleaning out closets, but am so glad when I do. Purging is good for the soul.

It really is. I can’t believe the detritus that accumulates in 6 months …

Seems like Tucker has claimed every soft spot on the deck. I saw your IG post and didn’t get it at first. I thought he looked like he was sleeping standing up! I suspect that was his “darn, mom caught me” face.

He was dreaming about the sausages on the BBQ side panel which didn’t show because of the bright sunshine… 😎
