I have sold two bracelets on the weekend to a local person. 🎊
I have also sold a necklace to someone who lives in Ottawa. 💃
AND, I have created three more bracelets on a design suggestion from a wonderful blogger and follower of mine who already purchased some of my pieces. I will feature them below.
Scroll down if you want to see my new products. But first, here are some updates:
I am a little bit challenged with what to do about my Etsy shop. They charge 25 cents for each item I list, and since my jewelry isn’t particularly expensive, I’m not sure if it’s worth it. The incidental costs add up quickly. Plus, they take another cut when I make a sale…
I am still learning and was very appreciative when Back Porch Studio – check out her gorgeous pottery – sent me some helpful links on how to learn all things Etsy (thank you!).
The two bracelets I sold were featured in my Etsy store, but I got cash for them so I don’t know how to manage this online (yet). Am I supposed to deactivate the images on Etsy now? How do I process a cash sale?
As I said, I’m on a learning journey. 🙂
Going forward with Etsy
What I decided to do going forward was list only products priced over $15 on Etsy. Anything below that price I’ll load onto instagram and/or the blog instead (with some cross posting here and there).
I am not a numbers person. I
roped asked my mom into doing the book-keeping for me temporarily until I figure things out and/or hire someone to do the accounting for me.
Side note: Who wants to be my business manager? 😉
My mom has a business background and 30 years experience, plus time, so I’m sure this is a good way to begin expanding this little side hustle of mine. Having her crunch the numbers will free up my time to write words and design jewelry. I can focus on the creative stuff I’m good at and leave the numbers to someone else. 🙂
In terms of payment options, there are really multiple ways to handle sales. I take PayPal and credit through the apps (Etsy is set up with credit, PayPal is an option both through apps and privately). I also take e-transfers and, if you happen to be local to me, cash.
Thank you to those of you who have already selected and purchased some of my jewelry and thank you to those of you who are reading this, and considering. 🙂
Don’t forget, Christmas is coming… 😀
Feel free to email me if you have any questions, requests or comments. My email is on my contact page.
