Keeping busy

I have a lot going on, currently. I’m no different from anyone else, but I noticed I’ve neglected to post here regularly so take this an my official explanation – like you, I have a lot going on. πŸ™‚

I’m getting a lot done in terms of writing. I have oodles and oodles of posts ready for Medium…

Posts on Medium

Here are the latest ones I’ve published to date:

Caution: If you are a relative of mine, a snowflake, easily offended by cringe-worthy material about sex, or going to rant at me about all the stupid mistakes I made in youth, you may not want to click through this list…

Tip: hold on to your hat. πŸ˜€

They’re essays about my University years in a co-ed dorm during the late 80s and early 90s.

I’d appreciate a clap on that platform. I’m on the partnered program at Medium and aiming for an income stream. Your clap is a free like and doesn’t cost you anything but will help me out tremendously. (Thank you.)

I have other posts on there, feel free to browse. If you have an account on Medium and would like me to follow you, drop me a comment and let me know.

If Not Now When publication on Medium

I made it live and started posting stories to it.

If Not Now, When?

I want to expand and invite participants but haven’t had a chance to look into all the details. I do know, thanks to Ashley, that you have to be a Medium member (I think) to participate – if you are not, or do not want to become one, I can still invite you to participate. Instead of posting to my publication on Medium you could post to your own blog and let me know about it, so I can write up an intro on my publication and link back to you on your blog.

Take this as a conceived idea, not a fully formed one (yet). I’m still ironing out the details.

Writer of Words Jewelry

I’m still making jewelry. It’s calming me.

I’m closer to setting up my store. I’m open for business if you’re interested in purchasing items. I sell most bracelets between $8 and $12 CAD plus shipping, the necklaces slightly more (it depends on the type of bead I’m using) and I also sell combinations for a reduced price. You’re best bet is to check my Instragram account where I showcase my creativity.

I price the pieces individually, and mention it on the jewelry tab on my website.

Beagle update

Meanwhile, I’m up to my eyeballs in Tucker shenanigans. I went into the city to take a kid to an appointment and noticed how Tucker was a little bored. The kids, who had been home for almost 18 months, are back in school and out of the house all day and their dad is plugged in working full time. From home, but still. He doesn’t have time to entertain the poochie all day.

I offered to take him to my place for a day. Meanwhile, he’s had two walks, ate some tissue boxes, had a bath, and is currently on the hunt for another towel because I took the wet one from the bath away from him. πŸ˜›

Perhaps I will take him down to the marina tonight for a stroll… He could be my date. ❀

Happy almost weekend. Thank you for reading, as always, and see you in the comments.

  1. I will look into medium one day. It’s one of those platforms I know nothing about, but I’m working on editing novel #3 while writing #4 and I’m not terribly good at time management.

    1. I’m a little ambiguous if it’s the right platform for me. So far it feels a little less “warm” and “tribe-ish” than WP.

I’m not convinced I can keep it up after my yearly subscription is done (I’d have to renew) so I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

But I’m giving it my all now. It’s an experiment, especially for the If Not Now When project. I have plenty of material to feed into it so may as well, right?

  2. I’m sort of slacking on posts this month, too. Same reason as you. Except I’m not writing on Medium, not walking a beagle regularly, and not making jewelry.

OK, fine. Completely different reasons than yours.

  3. Your stories and my stories are similar. My stories started at age 15 though😲 and I was pretty wild. I learned more before 18 than I did after.
Your Medium stories are honest and well written, and unfortunately, relatable. Looking forward to more!

    1. I’m happy to see you are able to read them. Some people without a medium account can’t read after maxing out on their quota.

I may cross post to WP or compile them into a book at some point. We’ll see.

Thank you Angie for your friendship. ❀️

  4. I think people can still submit to publications if they’re not paying members as long as they have a Medium account. And claps help with popularity points, but you only get paid reading time by paying members. I can’t read any of your stuff right now as I’ve already hit my limit of free reads for the month.
