It’s been a while since I’ve been nominated for a blog award, but one of my newest followers, James the Less (who came up with a catchy name for his blog) nominated me.
I’m going to skip over the rules (bad, bad, I know, you can yell at me if you wish) and just answer the questions he posed. Let’s see if my grey matter is sharp enough to come up with something witty but truthful for these questions…
Questions and answers
1. If you could go back in time to prevent any disaster in history, which one would it be?
I have no idea. There are too many to choose from… but lately, with all the fires everywhere, I thought it might be nice if I could go back in time to stop a fire from destroying the home of a school friend of my mom’s. She and her family lived in Alberqueque at the time and they lost everything. My mom kept some of the photos of her children as they grew and sent them back to her when they moved to Boston to start over again. So, I would have liked to stop the fire from destroying people’s livelihood.
2. Which living person has the greatest influence on you?
Lately, my friends, one in particular. Also my mom. Because…mom. ❤
3. What is something that you find overrated?
4. If you had the opportunity to relive your life, correcting all your mistakes, would you take it?
Well this is tricky to answer and the only way I would say yes is if I could pick and choose which ones. The question however said ‘all’ mistakes, and the short answer would be no. Those mistakes formed me into the person I am today even though some weigh me down and are a burden I have difficulty letting go of.
However. If I could pick or choose which mistakes I could correct and re-live that part of my life, there are a couple of missed opportunities I would rectify. Also, I would jump at the chance to report the doctor who sexually molested me when I was in my early 20s. That was in the 1990s… things have changed now and this would not happen today, but back then… He deserved/should have been reported.
5. What is the routing number to your bank account? Or If you had to learn to play a new musical instrument, which one would you choose?
Well I guess I could share my bank account routing number but you would be sorely disappointed with its contents. All you could buy with the money in there is a rubber dinghy*.
I don’t want to play instruments, but I do like listening to music. I took some piano lessons when I was younger, but both the violin and the saxophone appeal to me very much.
Thanks for nominating me, James, and sorry (not sorry) for not following the rules.
*I don’t know what it is with boats lately. Every time I turn around there’s mention of a boat or I see a boat or someone I know buys a boat or sells a boat… It’s quite perplexing. (I should pull some tarot cards and see what the universe has to say about that, hah.)
I was near a hoity-toity yacht club recently and remembered looking at all those expensive sail boats and yachts parked in the marina and I wondered, do these people even have time to make use of them? The marina was full on a summer’s evening, indicating few people who owned these yachts were out on the lake enjoying them. This is Canada, for six months out of the year people don’t go out with their boats, and here we are in summer and they weren’t out on the lake, either. Seems a little overkill to me, owning a flashy yacht just to park it for 360 days out of the year.
