I’m on the path of descending into a discombobulated state of mind so I drew some tarot cards this morning.
While shuffling, my predominant though was how I was going to get through the rest of the week.
I’m staying at my mom’s with the 13yo and the Beagle, but I think I will return my daughter home this weekend and insist she make some plans with her friends.
I haven’t decided yet if I will stay here, or return home also. Will talk with mom and see how ready she is to get her house (and order and peace and quiet) back. 😎
As some of you know I’ve been struggling a bit with this parenting teenagers thing. Thank you for your responses yesterday, it means the world to me to have a place to sound off. ❤️
So these were the cards I pulled today.

I never pulled Judgment before so I’m looking forward to analyzing this card. How appropriate is this card considering I just complained about being judged in yesterday’s post? 😳
The King of Swords intimidates me a little; typically the Kings are in control of themselves and their circumstances, but he’s got a sword which represents the element Air. Air means thoughts, so I can see how this card is related to the Judgement card. But beyond that, I don’t know what to make of it…
The final card is The Lovers in reverse. I have no idea what this means, upright or reversed, and I’ve never pulled this card either so I will investigate.
Perhaps I will make a YouTube video for my neglected channel today…
While pondering what to say, I will play with my new beads. I took my daughter to Value Village, which is like a Goodwill (they’re out of business in 🇨🇦 due to mismanagement), where I saw some donated beaded jewelry. I snipped the necklaces to collect the beads, washed them and let them dry overnight. Do you like my colours?

The dark ones are a metallic navy, almost charcoal colour. The turquoise will look interesting mixed with dark beads, or silver…
I’ll post some design ideas on Instagram later. You can check my account at Writerofwordsjewelry. I’m in the process of setting up a store. 😊
Thanks for reading! Seee you in the comments.
Writer of Words,

Looking forward to see how you trepurpose them!
Btw, TY for following the blog a few weeks back. ❤🌻🌈

I was so upset when the Value Village in my Washington town closed, I blogged about it. RIP VV!

There are vast differences among the VVs … In hoity-toity town the fashion selection is much different than in my neighbourhood… But just a couple of miles from there, again very different. Depends on the demographic, I guess, that provides the donations.

Swinged Cat,
Did all VV go out of business? I’m born/raised from Evergreen State but haven’t been back since 2005

No, not all of them. There are still Value Villages around…just not as many as before. And none out where I live now.

Thanks! That makes me feel a little less skeptical..

Hi Midnightmusings,
I was skeptical of the concept of Tarot for a long while. So now I’m learning and absorbing in bits n pieces.

I’m new to your blog but I wanted to ask if tarot has been helpful to you?

YES!
I have found that I learned how to be more intuitive, and how to read my own feelings and emotions better. It took some time, and I journaled it on my tarot page (writerofwordsetc.ca/tarot) but I’m really enjoying it.
One thing I’ve done was listen to some youtube tarot readers. The prevailing message has been to take what resonates and to leave what doesn’t. I didn’t know this when I first started getting interested in tarot cards but I am doing exactly that now. I listen to a message for Libra, and I take what I can from it and leave the rest.
Are you interested in learning more about tarot cards?

Yeah.. I am actually. The only problem is I doubt everything. I tried online tarot once but everything seemed very generic

Many online readings are for a collective, say only Libras or only Taurus. They are meant as a guide and for me, asa method to understand the cards better. I take it with a grain of salt.
Some of them do personal readings, or extended readings based on the collective message which means if you found the collective resonated with you but you want a deeper analysis you can request that. They charge a few bucks for that usually.
Alternately you can take some courses and learn yourself. I’ve had my eye on Biddy Tarot for a while. I like her positive spin on the cards’ messages.

Writer of Words,
Found your blog several weeks ago when I did a “tarot” search – so you’re a Libra?

Yes. I’m a Libra and learning a great deal about the tarot. So fascinating! I have learned many things but the most important is to take what speaks to me or my situation and to leave the rest. Not everything speaks to me, either when I pull my own cards or I listen to a collective reading on YouTube. It took a while to ‘get this’… 🙃

I was trying to think of some wise words yesterday for your post but my time parenting teens has been so long ago I came up with nothing that might help. In some ways I wonder if that’s a good thing. Your teens are being normal and I found nothing in what you wrote about your responses to be judged as wrong. Perhaps once they move on from this stage our parenting brains just let go of our teen emotional responses so we can forget the whole horrid time. Not much help now of course, but I know my kids all turned into human beings somewhere in their college years. Try to hold onto that if you can.
