What a week it’s been.
Oh wait, it’s only Wednesday… š³
I have been writing. Purging. Focusing on teenagers. And staying indoors during the day – we have heat and humidity which is all wonderful after a long, cold, locked-down winter, but it’s too hot to do anything outside. Not as hot as Arizona or some places in the deep South (or…Australia), but with the humidex it reaches mid to late 30s C (90s F) which is often a bit headache-inducing. And tiring.
Between writing a kinky story on my other blog, I have been designing jewelry. This little hobby has been so therapeutic for me, I think it might evolve into a small obsession. š

I’m trying to decide if I should list these bracelets on Etsy, or try to sell them locally, or what. I don’t know… Whenever shipping is involved, things get much more complicated.

For now, I enjoy making the jewelry and I wear some of it myself.
Yesterday I churned out a story that had been percolating in my head for a few days now. I don’t know what happens to me when I write kinky stories – I think more than I write, and then, suddenly, I get hit by an urge that has me churn out the entire story in one sitting.
But I can’t publish it immediately. It needs to be edited, I need access to a thesaurus, and I have to obsess and agonize over every grammatical decision. I’m getting better though; I noticed a shift in my writing abilities, and it’s welcome. It encourages me to keep going, to practice my craft, and to share it with anyone who wants to read.
What else is going on?
My second book, which is in final edits, is stalled. I have not been able to get back to resuming the final editing. The content, although fiction, is somewhat heavy at times and all the hindsight and reflection that goes into editing these stories has kind of worked me up a bit. But don’t worry, I will be self-publishing this little anthology soon. And then you can read more of my stories.
Today, the humidity has lifted and there was rain. I have all the windows open which is so lovely after days of living in an artificial (but comfortable) air-conditioned atmosphere. Not sure what the weather reports say for these parts for the coming week, but July and August are typically very humid, so… I’ll take it as it comes. I finally get to wear my summer dresses. š
Stay safe out there with the heat and the hurricanes!
See you in the comments.
Hi Claudette,

I discovered this online thesaurus recently while attending a writing workshop and it’s pretty robust. You can search words and phrases, break them down by noun/verb/adverb, etc. Lots of options. https://www.onelook.com/thesaurus/

Nice dress! I have a closet full of dresses and skirts I never wear. I don’t GO anywhere and haven’t for years.
My “Summer Wardrobe” is very much like my Winter Wardrobe, just shorter and fewer layersš¤£

Well, the profile from the front slightly hunched over doesn’t show some of the, um, let’s call it ‘cushioning’ in certain areas… š
Yes, I love my new hobby. I just made a necklace today.

You should maybe add word beads to your jewelry

Hows my little buddy, Tucker? Is he doing ok with the heat and humidity? I suffer with it unfortunately and need to come indoors and sleep more often.

He sleeps a little more but then is full of beans in the evenings. š
