Recently I asked two questions:
What is your favorite and least favorite thing about you?
In this post, I’ll address the answers to the thing you like best about yourself. Your favorite thing about you.
My own answer is, as usual, wordy. (Surprise!) π
To be honest, this question really stumped me when I came across it in social media. I have been stuck in a negative vortex and found it difficult to choose something I liked about myself, especially without thinking long and hard first. Should it be this difficult? No, it really shouldn’t. And I’ll tell you why:
Because of my own struggle to find something I liked about myself, I thought I’d turn to you. Surely I’m not the only person who is weird? (Turns out, yes, mostly, I am.π) Many of you sent back such eloquent answers I was instantly inspired. β€
Here’s what happened during my struggle:
First, I thought of my new shoes. (Ha.)
Then I thought I really like my blond streaks in my hair.
Next, I thought “you’re vain and selfish and these are superficial answers, do better.” π
Except… I really do like those things. π As soon as I get a post-lockdown professional haircut I’ll like my hair even better. π
As I continued to ponder I realized, the one thing I keep at every single day, no matter what, is write my words. Partly that’s because you like reading them! β€
My creativity comes out in my writing which is something I enjoy doing and like about myself.
I don’t mean just the blog posts, although those are a big part of who I am. I also mean my story-telling, the creative writing side of me. (I’m also creative in other ways as you can see in the feature photo at the top of this post on my website – I make jewelry too.)
When I get creative, I get really creative, and effectively so. (Those of you who have read my erotic stories on the other blog know this about me; if you want to get to know that side of me, you can read my ebook (written under my pen name) and let me know what you think! It’s available on various platforms and only $2.99)
It seems I wasn’t the only one who picked creativity as a favorite thing. Several bloggers mentioned this, which really isn’t very surprising given we are all here sharing our words, insights and stories.
So here are the answers of people who participated in this detour from my usual ramblings. π
