It’s windy today. So windy that the Cessna 172 training flights at a local airport were canceled.
It’s also cold. All my lovely plants I bought for my garden and deck railing are in my house, to shield them from possible overnight frost.
Southern Canada is tricky to figure out when it comes to weather. People with April birthdays might have pictures dating back to childhood where in some cases they are wearing winter coats or snowsuits and in other cases are wearing summer dresses.
I suspect we will go from heating the house at night to turning the AC on during the day within a matter of a week. This cold front is temporary, we all know this.
Still, I’m over it. Get me out of this house!
Anyway my partner finished the Beagle-proof fence in the rain yesterday and even added a little gate so I can easily enter to deal with my plants. Tucker was confused that he’s now banned from digging back there. Ha.
I’m going to have to be careful when I go through the gate (which isn’t pictured in the above image) because he’s sneaky… 😉
I’m sitting here sipping my second coffee listening to the international air traffic flying over my house. While us Torontonians are locked into our homes, our children haven’t had a social life or in person school in months, and we’re banned from going to golf courses and outdoor tennis courts, international flights are bringing in hordes of people who are not monitored to quarantine upon arrival. Apparently they require a negative test to enter the land but I’m not convinced everyone is doing that.
I’m beginning to think herd immunity at huge human costs is the only way to get through this pandemic. I’m certainly doing my part to avoid more death and destruction but apparently that’s not enough, because covidiots.
Apologies for continuously injecting covid-related negativity into my posts but it really is quite maddening to lead by example for the sake of the kids, modeling law-abiding behaviour when so much injustice is continually thrown into our faces.
Here comes another plane… I can hear it flying right over my house. 🛬😵
So you see, even if I stay off the news and social media I keep being subjected to more reminders about how inept this entire thing has been dealt with in my province and country. Airplane noise is the culprit today. ✈️
I will end here before I turn into a raging lunatic. The children need breakfast and I think I’m going to plant my kale in the cold soil outside because that’s one vegetable that can handle the cool temps.
I just hope the wildlife won’t get at it. I know there are bunnies around because Tucker barks at them. 🐇😀
Here he is, beagling the wildlife. 🙃
