Woke up Wednesday morning to this…
Immediately went online to block South Dakota and Minnesota. 😉
Got ready to go visit mom with Tucker. Couldn’t find Tucker.
Found Tucker on my bed.
Tucker is not allowed on my bed. 😵
Managed to harness, leash and seatbelt him into the backseat of the Elantra.
Stopped enroute to pick up mini cheesecakes for dessert. Realized I hadn’t had breakfast. Picked up bacon-egg-sandwich.
Tucker in the backseat smelled bacon.
Came sniffing around as far as his puppy seatbelt let him.
Wanted a bite of this.
Gave me the puppy look.
Caved and gave him a piece of bacon. 🙄
Drove among plenty of whining and whimpering from the backseat. Turned up Aerosmith to tune him out. 😄
Got to mom’s in one piece, more or less.
Took picture of mom’s bay window.
Watched her receive a birthday bouquet from my brother and family.
Took Oreo out of his cage for some sunshine.
Had lunch, went to run a quick errand, came back, had dessert and tea.
Had a lovely visit, went grocery shopping on way home, got home at dinner time, family wanted to know what’s for dinner.
After my head blew up I pointed to boxed Mac ‘n Cheese which they ignored. They spent 20 minutes ordering Swiss Chalet which is about as long as it takes to make boxed Mac ‘n Cheese (but ordering costs more money) during which time I unpacked, cleaned up and then poured my first wine spritzer in two and a half weeks.
They ate. I didn’t.
The snow had melted.
Then I received a text from mom. Seems Tucker snuck into the back room and was, um…kinda busy. 😐 😂
This was probably the most excitement we all had in months. Stupid lockdown. 😥
And that’s how I spent my day avoiding the covid police and celebrating my mom’s birthday. ❤️
