I am cranky and fed up.
Sorry not sorry.
I realized something: I need to say and do things that are helpful to me and others, not rant about my cranky-ness. But is it healthy to just swallow a bad mood, and let it fester (and grow) inside?
Of course not.
I remembered that extreme emotions feed into creative writing (elated and miserable ones). I know this for a fact because I’ve written a book and published it under my pseudonym.
I’m working on another book that I’ll publish here (my own name), probably. Maybe.
I will admit, it’s difficult to stay focused when I’m staring at the same walls all day everyday and have been for a year. Maybe I’ll get myself hitched with American so I can get out of this province haha…ππ€ͺπΊπΈ
I do have a few snippets of good things happening in my life (other than the kinky novel I published). For instance, I’ve been driving with my son. As you know, he’s 16 and has his learner’s permit.π
So far we’ve logged about 4 hours in two weeks. The last two times we even went on main arteries with traffic signals, a first for him. He’s not quite there with the left turns although he’s done one already. Just by chance there was a bike ahead of us, a bus stopping at the bus stop, lots of foot traffic with pedestrians… π³
He didn’t look stressed but I could tell he was concentrating really hard. I was proud of how he handled it. Hopefully we can try again soon.
Next week is no school, not because we typically get a week in April off but because they canceled March break/Spring break last month due to covid cases. The politicians/medical staff argued if people have time off they will go out into the community and spread the disease. As a result they kept the teachers working and the kids in school and lo, the numbers increased exponentially and here we are with all hell breaking loose. Again.
Don’t tell me lockdowns work, if they did we wouldn’t be on our third one. (Or is it the 4th?) ffs
In other good news (before I complained about lockdowns again), Tucker is still digging. π΅
Wait… That’s not good news is it. π€ͺ

You can’t really tell from the picture but the hole he dug exposed the roots of my flowering bush and is at least six or seven inches deep.
I shooed him away and he turned on his super-confused cuteness vibe. Ugh. π

I’ll have to figure out how to prevent him from destroying that bush, but for now I just dumped some broken stones on top.

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is that food prices have gone up. Twice in recent months my food bill seem to have almost doubled and we’re not really eating differently than before. There are times when we go out to pick up (take-away) but not any more than usual/before covid.
I am nothing if not an innovative cook, so I think it’s time to go back to stretching meat again. My family is carnivore which is fine but if I make things like burgers or meatloaf, I will need to find something nutritious to stretch the meat with. Let’s call it artisan cooking. ππ
So there you go… Another rambling blog post from me. With mostly good among a little cranky-induced complaining. Boo.
See you in the comments.
I love you’re rantings, makes me feel less alone, and more acceptable! Keep them coming, C

Meh. Thanks but I’m sick of myself. But don’t worry there’s bound to be another one at some point… π

I think venting might be the right thing to do sometimes, an its lovely how we can sit across the world and still hear about your day π

I have no idea whether lockdowns work or not. I’m the wrong person to ask given the state in which I live. (Insert eyeroll.)

LOCKDOWNS. DO. NOT. WORK. BECAUSE. HERE. WE. ARE. IN. THE. 4TH. ONE. – IF. THEY. DID. WE. WOULD. NOT. HAVE. HAD. SO. MANY.
SORRY NOT SORRY. (I’m so so soooo fed up and tired.)

Food prices have gone up here too. Because they canπ People gotta eat.
Zeus has been randomly digging lately. π€·πΌββοΈSpring Fever, Canine Lockdown Protest? A dog’s gotta dig?
Lucky they’re cute!
Rice is a good hamburger stretcher, especially for meatloaf or stuffed peppers. Or black beans in burgersπ€·πΌββοΈ
Places keep going in & out of Lockdown. It would work if there weren’t jerks galavanting around without masks and spreading the kooties. Good people pay the price for idjits. I had quite a few rage fits over it!
As Led Zeppelin sang… Ramble on πΆππΌπ

So publishing question, how much of a percentage of profit do you get if you sell ? Is it full ?

I’m not with Amazon, I’m with Smashwords. They pay a larger percentage. You can read up on it on their website. But it’s only ebooks, no hard copies.

Ah ok. I’m glad your not with Amazon..I hate that company. I knew you were with smashwords, was just curious about how you make profit.

Food prices have definitely gone up, and from what I hear are going to go up again shortly. As for ranting… feel free. Weβve all been there. And lockdowns? They rarely work because a sizable portion of the public ignore them… and as a result, we all pay the price.

I think any of us who are honest about our feelings can easily go from ranting one minute to rambling the next, from good to bad– and back again. Then onto some other feeling.
Say what you want here. It’s your blog.

Maybe Tucker will protest lockdown by tunnelling under the fence.

Use oatmeal in the meatloaf to stretch it some. Adds some fiber and is cheap as well.
You could also do it with an Italian flair and add garlic, mushrooms, seasonings, etc. with some sauce on the top. Sort of like a big flat loafy meatball.
