So I taped myself for you. Just a short, less than a minute long clip. I’m talking about my hair, if that means anything to you.
Note, if you’re reading this in reader, the video may not show up there. I don’t know, I’ll know after I publish. If it doesn’t, just open the website. It’ll be there for sure.
Happy covid Monday. My kids are forced into online learning again all week, and today was day 1 (well, morning of day 1).
See you in the comments. π
It’s good to see you doing a video again. Love the streaks π

I take it you don’t want anyone to hear you in the house when you record these ?

I prefer to tape when I’m alone only because I don’t want to be interrupted.

Ok, if you’re alone, then you should practice projecting your voice. You are such a quiet talker.

Got identical reaction when my hair went pink last summer. My life , my hair, my crisis!

I like your blonde streaks. You should threaten to dye your hair bright pink and see what your son says then π

Ha ha… Yup. Like his sister with the purple streaks…. he’s not a fan of those, either. ππ

The on only acceptable way it would scream midlife if you were doing it specifically to cover up gray…

I say dye your streaks electric blue or hot pink or both!! Definitely keep them.
I hate the term “mid-life” because it seems so negative. I will be 53 next month and statistically I’m over the half way mark. I feel like the best years are ahead of me. I’ve learned my lessons and feel comfortable in my skin.
Way too much emphasis is put on youth.
That’s my two cents anyway.ππ¦

I think midlife is far more interesting myself than any previous age…perimenopause aside. π Yeah, the best part is still to come, right?

Your blond streaks are super cute! They light up your face.
What does your daughter think?

She doesn’t say much about them but she doesn’t dislike them. She’s a blondie herself but she has purple streaks on the front of her head now… lol

In his defense I asked him directly. π
He also doesn’t like his sister’s purple streaks.
I said “wait till I get a tattoo…” π. His look was priceless (and I was only half kidding). π

So you’re proud cause he knows what he wants/likes. That’s an important skill for someone his age.
But you’re also like, challenge accepted! to see how far you can go. π

I was irritated initially. I mean, I want my kid to like me…
But then I rembered another hockey mom on my son’s team who dyed her blond, shoulder-length hair entirely purple (not just streaks) and when I mentioned her he suddenly didn’t say much else. π

Shut him up quick, eh? π
He’s mighty presumptuous about midlife and crisis. Not to mention we’re all kind of in crisis after the last year. π
Meanwhile, you keep doing you, because you are fabulous, girl! β€

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the wild colors either, though if you’re under 18, fine. But my 67 year old SIL has magenta streaks and looks positively ridiculous…. in my opinion.

I don’t want rainbow colours. Just the contrast of dark and blond suits me fine. π

I don’t know about so called “mid-live crisis”, since for me life is in (or a) crisis and always was in away. And what is the matter with the hair, if you like it this way? Other people make stupid surgeries to look different (and then often ugly, while they think they are prettier). But coloring the hair a little, why not? As long as you don’t look like a clown next time. π
And it was nice to hear your voice. β€

Well true about the crisis. There’s always some drama, isn’t there…π
Thank you for commenting. The hair colouring is a relatively innocent and inexpensive way to switch things up a bit. π

Love this and love seeing you in person, talking, being expressive! Keep those highlights, they look great! Plus, it’s a good example for your daughter that women aren’t here to adhere to the opinions of others, we are here to develop and adhere to our own! Great job Mom! C
