Caution: this is an interruption of regular programming.
I had a bit of a meltdown today. It involved…
puppies who wake at 5 am and manage to escape contraptions, teenagers who sleep all day and have been for 6 months and don’t empty dishwashers, wet weather causing dirty floors, dog breath that smells like poop because he thinks poop is a treat, indoor pee puddles even though I had literally just watched him pee outside 35 seconds ago, wayward tweens who refuse to take their multi-vitamin or leave their dirty dishes on the table instead of putting them in the washer and don’t put their garbage in the garbage bin and leave it all over the living room, incessant emails about stupid shit, school delays pushed back to the 17th of September now (don’t get me started), expired credit cards needing updating, and a slew of other crap
I ended up emptying the dishwasher myself, pawned the dog off on the girl child, then had a long shower. After, I made myself some mac and cheese which I didn’t share with anyone, and ate a bowl of hazelnut and chocolate ice cream in the bedroom with the door locked.
All those carbs are going to make me miserable but I’m already miserable so whatever.
It’s been a day and it’s only 3 pm.
Anyway, hello. Anyone want an 11 week old Beagle puppy? Or a couple of kids who will probably never return to school ever again?
We now resume normal programming.
Blah.
Ugh, my blog friend, ugh. I’m so behind on my reading that this must have been days ago now, but I hope the day (and days since) have been better.

Say what? No thanks. Our kids are nearing 40, grandkids are graduating high school, and our Pug is better trained than the kids ever were. No way we want to renter the “responsibility zone”.

I’ll take the puppy……once it’s house trained! You’re doing an excellent job! Seriously, the ice cream/chocolate seems justified.

Those kids need to take more responsibility for the puppy they HAD to have. Itβs all fun and games until you have to clean up pee puddles I know, but I think Iβd be tempted to lock the sweet pooch in their bedroom. No sleeping till noon then.

Plan tomorrow morning: puppy gets dropped on kid’s head by 9am. Then I’ll take myself out for coffee. π

Isn’t it so frustrating when everything happens at once? I’m so sorry you’re having a difficult day. I hope it gets better for ya from here. Sending hugs!
