Inquiring minds want to know – 8 questions

Who wants to play? Let’s start with 8 questions:

  1. What is the first action you take when you feel out of control?
  2. What do you fear most?
  3. If given a chance to rebel against something, what would it be?
  4. Are you by nature a jealous person; why or why not?
  5. What is your favorite type of weather?
  6. Do you see yourself blogging for the foreseeable future?
  7. What is one thing you’ve always wanted to try and what has held you back from trying it?
  8. You have been given 6 months and an unlimited budget: where do you want to go and what do you want to do there?

I will post my own answers tomorrow.

  1. What is the first action you take when you feel out of control? – Put blinkers on, and start solving things, one after another.
What do you fear most? – I don’t really fear anything – I perhaps get pissed about things though
If given a chance to rebel against something, what would it be? – People who complain about things without doing anything about their situation
Are you by nature a jealous person; why or why not? – No – I don’t really compare myself to others – kind of live in a bubble 🙂
What is your favorite type of weather? – fresh, sunny mornings
Do you see yourself blogging for the foreseeable future? – always
What is one thing you’ve always wanted to try and what has held you back from trying it? – I’ve always wanted to write a novel, but I’m too good at procrastinating 🙂
You have been given 6 months and an unlimited budget: where do you want to go and what do you want to do there? – I would visit everybody around the world I have crossed paths with through blogging, and spend a few days in each place.

  2. 1. I go to the fridge! I’m a comfort eater, sadly!
    2. Being broke
    3. The whole thing about having to follow socially pre-defined life patters, aka, school, work, marriage, death
    4. Not jealous but possessive. What’s mine is mine, lol
5.I’m a summer girl! I live in Cape Town!
    6. Yes. I just started blogging but it’s what I have wanted to do for the longest time. I just kept prioritising other things.
    7. Travel solo across the world. I’ve travelled solo for work to different countries but never on holiday. Fear has stopped me I guess, fear of not having fun on my own?
    8. Given six months and a budget I would travel the whole of France, mainly the south. I have an obsessive fascination with the culture.

  4. 1. I make a list of things I have to do.
    2. Bees, Wasps, Hornets, etc
    3. Racism

    6. No
    7. Roller Skating. Falling and breaking something.
    8. So I’m kindof boring – I don’t want to go anywhere. If I had an unlimited budget and 6 months, I’d fix everything possible in my house and hard and really clean up all of the work areas. I’d get my garden in tip-top shape and put in a well. Now, that’s a great destination.

    1. Not everyone wants to travel; at least one other person would prefer their homestead to leaving. Nothing wrong with that!

Thank you for responding and coming back – did you disappear for a while?

  5. Finally remembering to answer these – 1. If it’s morning I go back to bed, pull the covers over my head and cry. If it’s evening I open the wine. Occasionally if I remember that it helps I pray.
    2. Something terrible happening to my kids.
    3. The unwritten rules of what is socially acceptable.
    4. I’m not jealous by nature. If I was going to feel jealous it would be of the connection or relationship between people.
    5. Warm and sunny with blue skies.
    6. I’d like to be.
    7. I’ve been fortunate enough to have tried a lot of the things that I would have previously put on this list. Maybe the thing that is left is writing a book? What is stopping me? Lack of self belief probably.
    8. There are so many places I still want to see but I’d start with Australia and New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Italy. I’d want to eat the food and drink the drinks, see all the iconic sights and meet the people. Of course I’d have several books on my kindle app for those resting in the sun moments.

8-I would visit my brother, James after I discovered where he was and then I would find my DNA print by finding my relatives on both sides of my family, so it would include parts of the South and the Pacific Coast in the United States. The unlimited budget would assist with a detective tracking them down. My husband would drive and we would take a BMW as it would be safer to travel this way for many reasons.

    1. Snakes! I don’t want those around me either.

Your answer for 8 is intriguing!

(I found this in the spam folder the other day that’s why you didn’t get a response from me until bow. No clue why this happened).

    1. Thank you for participating, Mr. Kuch. There is an official term for fear of the period punctuation mark – Pistaphobia. Regrettably, there is no official terminology to label your fear of the semicolon. Perhaps you may wish to seek treatment.

In terms of fearing people who use them correctly, that is very unfortunate (for you, not for them). I hear those people are a unique and eloquent band of linguists whose main purpose in life is to enrich the grammatical objectives of the many authors who read, and write, in these pages. Additionally, they are, as a rule, quite beautiful in a striking sort of way. 😛

It is regrettable that your fear of the innocent little semicolon dictates to your heart, and mind, such intense emotion. Perhaps some meditation may help you
relax a little, and, you know, “open your heart to love and lay love in the crevice abandoned in the abyss of humanity.” No reason why you can’t learn to love the semicolon or its bold, and bewitching wordsmiths. 😛

PS My mom remarked that she enjoys reading the comments. In particular that “Kuched guy, he’s funny.”

  9. What is the first action you take when you feel out of control? Usually, I bake. If things are really bad, I’ll do deep cleaning.
What do you fear most? I don’t have many fears. I would hate to lose my partner. It feels as though we’ve only just found one another (though it’s a decade already). Life without him would lose its luster.
If given a chance to rebel against something, what would it be? Corporatist government.
Are you by nature a jealous person; why or why not? Never have been. Not that I cannot be hurt, but water seeks its own level. If someone I’m with isn’t into it anymore–time to move on.
What is your favorite type of weather? Tough one. I love snow, but it’s hard to beat a late night summer thunderstorm–out on the front porch with a beer.
Do you see yourself blogging for the foreseeable future? I’ve been blogging for eight years. I’m not as faithful about it as I’d like, but, assuming the entire world/internet doesn’t collapse, I’ll probably blog until I drop.
What is one thing you’ve always wanted to try and what has held you back from trying it? Hmmmm. I’d like to do some serious wood carving. But even more, I’ve always wanted to graft fruit trees. As the orchard matures, I may get into it.
You have been given 6 months and an unlimited budget: where do you want to go and what do you want to do there? Oddly, I’d be right where I am, doing what I do. An unlimited budget might be nice–I could eliminate all existing debt and donate away like a maniac to right the ills of the world. But personally, what I have ahead is the continuing work on my home and property–at my pace and in my way.
    Pretty dull, eh?

    1. No. Not dull at all! I enjoyed getting some introspection here… 🙂

An ex-neighbour of mine planted a cherry tree and grafted 4 different types of cherry types onto the same tree. She moved away and I get to watch it bloom, and bear fruit, every year.

    5. What is your favorite type of weather? > Toss-up between snow and thunderstorms.
    6. Do you see yourself blogging for the foreseeable future? > Pretty sure I’ll be blogging on my deathbed.
    7. What is one thing you’ve always wanted to try and what has held you back from trying it? > I’m not sure if your comments are PG- or R- rated, so I’d better abstain from answering this. 🙂
    8. You have been given 6 months and an unlimited budget: where do you want to go and what do you want to do there? > I’d tour eastern Europe: Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, etc. See all the sights, eat all the food.
