This morning I really didn’t feel like going to boot camp.
Then I looked outside.
Car covered in snow.
Now I really, really didn’t feel like getting myself all packed up into layers to go to boot camp.
So when 9:05 came around …
I went to boot camp.
Are you proud of me?
I never feel like going. But the other two sessions during the week are in the evenings, a time that is less convenient even though my kids are tween and teen aged. Late afternoon and evenings are all about cooking dinner and arguing helping supervising with homework and herding children and driving to activities…so the Wednesday morning session, after the spawn leave the house, is the prefect time to go exercise.
There was a toddler there today pushing cars around the gym floor.
I am up to 1 min 20 seconds jump rope. Given I could do about 11 rotations a few weeks ago this is an improvement. 🙂
But every single time I go, I am glad. And every single time I head back home after a session, I’m still glad. A sore glad, but a good sore glad.
There are two more sessions I can attend for the price I paid, then I have to pay again.
The good news is, I have an income again, AND I am getting more requests. As I mentioned previously, I am back to dog walking.
Marshmallow, the 9 pound Maltese-Poodle mix, is a one and a half year old tiny, bouncy thing and we’ve had two successful walks already. 🙂
I do his third walk on Friday. Thursday, I’m off as I have a pre-booked appointment in the middle of the day that would be a pain in the ass to move around, so I told my new client I was unavailable and she was fine with it.
I am also slowly getting other requests coming in. Nothing that’s booked or confirmed, but it’s nice to know the word of mouth is working. Apparently a woman with two dogs, one still a puppy, is looking for someone experienced. My boot camp leader referred her to me and I got a text late last night. I hope it works out!
So there’s that.
It’s still snowing. It’s still February and it’s not too cold out so I’ll keep my complaining to a minimum today.
I actually had another topic in my head to write about today, but with all the in and out of the house, I wasn’t able to sit down and think deep thoughts until now. The kids are due home in an hour or so which isn’t enough time for me to write anything other than this drivel, so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow (or next week).
Plus I’m working on the self-checkout post still. Have you used one recently? I had my kid use one at the drug store – it’s quite amazing how comfortable young children are these days with technology. They are not afraid.
So there you go. A whole blog post about nothing. Just like Seinfeld. 🙂
Happy Hump Day!
Your Canadian Cold front made it all the way to Central Florida! Curses. It is only 60 degrees (F) outside today. Brrrr.

You made me smile and chuckle! I love exercise it has kept me sane in the past. Self checkouts I HATE THEM! I think they are depriving people of jobs. I’ll wait in line to talk to a checkout chick rather than that horrid impersonal machine!!! Enough rant!
Love

Seinfeld was comedic gold, so at least you are in rarefied company!

Same here. I mean, the guy pioneered sleeping on the job. How can you not like somebody like that?
