Things feel a little stale around here lately.
We’ve been back from vacation now for a while and it was only today that I did a proper grocery shopping. I took the girl child with me, and a list, and picked up almost all I had planned.
Except butter. They want me to pay $6.99 for a pound of butter.
Or watermelon. Same price for watermelon.
I think that’s ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is that the only place that sells butter for half that price, about $3.99 or even less on occasion, is Costco. Has anyone ever gone to Costco for just one item? Or, say, for only six pounds of butter and nothing else? We all know if I go to Costco I’ll get home with six pounds of butter and $300 worth of other stuff.
I do not have $300 lying around for other stuff at the moment.
So instead, while at a normal grocery store, I bought apricots, nectarines, blueberries and cherries. And no butter nor margarine. Let them eat toast with peanut butter, honey, jam or, I don’t care, Nutella. 🙂
See what I mean? Even my words are stale…
I have a lot of photos to sort through, and some interesting adventures to reminisce over that we had in Switzerland, but my head’s not in it at the moment, so bear with me. I promise when I do find the time and stamina, you will be taken on a very high mountain, twice, and quite possible entertained by the sound of some cow bells as well. 🙂
In the meantime, stay cool (if you’re in North America), dry (if you’re in a place where it’s raining) and warm (if you’re Down Under)…
