Early morning baking

I’m sitting here full of coffee and honey toast watching Mom on tv.

There is a child sleeping in my bed, clean laundry all around me I can’t put away in my bedroom, and wet cleats in the oven turned on low.

My life is sooo exciting! πŸ˜‚

I was going to throw the cleats in the dryer but it’s still broken. Maybe next week we can call a guy…

Today is more baseball, the All Girls Baseball Tournament. We got drenched halfway through the second game yesterday; it almost looked like the cloud was directly above our field and nowhere else. We could see blue sky and sunshine on the fringes…anyway the diamond turned into a mud pit but the girls were dancing in it. You know, because that’s what 11 year olds do in summer rain. πŸ˜€

I had a hard time getting her to come to the car…she couldn’t hear me yelling out the window so I had to take the waterproof picnic blanket which I had carefully laid out over the backseat of the car and wrap it around me while sprinting over to the dugout.

Needless to say I got drenched. 😳

Long story short I got us both home and washed and fed before I collapsed into bed at 7 pm and read my book for maybe 10 minutes until I literally crashed. Slept through till 4:30 am which is two hours longer than yesterday.

Note: Jetlag takes longer to overcome in midlife than in young people. For example, it’s 6 am now and the girl child is still fast asleep. 😴

And so another day of baseball begins.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I better go check if the cleats are baked. πŸ˜„
