Love notes

My younger child is 11.

She is so full of love, and expresses this love in everyday life. Constantly. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t mention, or show it to me.

Even when she’s mad at me. Which is often enough…she’s a tween after all. πŸ™‚

She expresses her love for those whom she loves with her words, her affection, her creativity.

I have to be extremely on guard with my cynical attitude on this topic to not destroy it for her.

Take this morning.

I wake up to some post it notes placed in the spot where I keep my notes and journal and phone during the day when I’m home and busy in the kitchen.

It’s not enough to point out she’s out of conditioner. She leaves me love notes to let me know.

It’s the same when she texts me. Doesn’t matter if it’s a request (can you pick me up?) or a reminder (I have track tonight after school, will be late) or anything else, she always sends hearts and kissy emojis with her messages.

This made my heart warm up a little today. Thought I’d share it with you. ❀

  1. I love getting random texts with heart emojis. I especially like the ones that just have a +1 in them. Because its the answer to ‘How much do you love me?’ Now matter how much you say, you can ALWAYS add 1 to it because numbers never end.
