This Saturday morning was freezing out, but sunny with no wind. Perfect for a nice, long dog walk.
Bonus: he didn’t try to kill me by getting spooked and pulling me into the lake. Or onto a frozen snowbank. Or into oncoming traffic (although there wasn’t much in the residential streets at that time of day). 😮
Across the lake, too far away to see, is America. 🇺🇸 Amazing, the size of the Great Lakes, isn’t it.
That’s the city skyline in the back, with Toronto’s iconic CN Tower.
Walking on the field with the grass peeking up is not as easy as it looks…you would think you’d have some traction but we slipped along like it was an ice rink. I stayed well away from the shores for that reason; Jerry is 80 pounds or more, and it wouldn’t take much to pull lithe little me (pfff, as if) into the freezing cold lake. 🙃
The ice build-up along the shores is amazing. I have more photos of this on my Instragram account, from a different park near my home.
I will tolerate these frozen conditions for now, but only because it’s February and I’m in Canada. It’s supposed to be like this. If it’s like this later, say in April, expect ranting and crying posts about how crappy the weather is.
