I actually have time to sit and blog when I leave things to be done by someone else in the house, say a teenager for example.
πππ
Oh how I amuse myself. π
While they were in school though, I did get a few things done. Like this:
If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen this pic aka my efforts to get a Christmas tree into this house.
The stand is ready, the ornaments were brought down from the attic, and I decorated the windows with lights, greenery and red bows.
My job is done. Someone else can buy the tree.
The rest of the day I spent going to IKEA and buying nothing (ha!), walking a poopy, pukey dog who magically got all better when I invited him into my house so I could keep an eye on his, um…outputs, and washing hockey.
The kids’ stuff reeks. It’s getting worse with them being teenaged, or close to, so once a week I wash, and then hang dry most of their gear: team jerseys, long-johns, jocks, neck guards, hockey socks and ringette pants, everything. I even do an extra rinse cycle because of the smell.
The rigid stuff, like shoulder pads, hockey pants etc just gets sprayed down by an odor-neutralizer spray. Sometimes they remember to spray…
They have to hang their stuff on a hockey tree, a contraption designed for wet equipment to air dry, and they’re very good at doing this after every game or practice. The spraying however…π
Let’s just say a weekly wash and rinse is keeping my basement from smelling like a locker room. π
Now I’m sitting here waiting for gymnastics girl and her grandmother to return, hub to get back from errands and the teen from not peeling carrots or setting the table. Where did that kid disappear to anyway?
Sigh.
Dinner is almost ready.
So is this post.
Cheers! It’s almost hump day…π
Nothing wrong with a rambling post π It feels like Christmas is kind of a train wreck this year for us – and we’re tumbling towards it in slow motion.

Us too. We too had a car situation, then another one…we’re running out of patience, time and money. Buh Humbug.

Oh yes, my boys stuff stinks to high hell! Our tree still doesnβt have the rest of the lights on it so itβs pitiful and not decorated. Oh well!

The upside to that tree is it’s full of imagination and shatterproof ornaments! Oh…and, I’m sure you know this already, but if you put a 1/2 cup or 1 cup (depending upon the size of load) of white vinegar in the load, it helps to minimize laundry smell. Just in case you wanted to add a step to the workload!?

Ah yes, forgot about the vinegar. I need to keep a bottle down in the laundry room to remind me, the one upstairs I use for cleaning and always forget to make the trip back up. Thanks for the reminder!
It’s exam week at the college, perhaps this weekend he’ll get the tree…π

I’m fine with the delay, we have very little space already…π
