We’re going to Paris today.
Just for a couple of hours, mind you. And not for the food, or shopping.
We’re going to a rink. 😉
The Paris I’m referring to is not the one in France. I lack the funds, time and Gulfstream to take me there.
But I do have a car with gasoline in it to take the girl child to her Ringette game in this rural town about an hour west of Toronto, which just happens to share the name with the famous city in Europe.
Don’t be jealous my life is this exciting. 🙃
The boy child has a local practice today as well, so he’ll be at a rink too. All of this rink time makes me wonder when exactly we’ll be getting our Christmas tree. Tonight, maybe?
Tomorrow?
There’s an IKEA ten minutes from my house, and they give coupons with their trees…I can always find something to buy at IKEA if I really want to. Hand towels for the bathroom, for example. Or something for the kitchen…
Ha.
Like I said, no need to envy my life, it’s really not that interesting. 😉
What’s up with your Sunday? Is everyone out Christmas shopping today?
I’ve never been to IKEA or to a Paris anywhere. So I guess that makes my life even less exciting than yours. And to think there’s an IKEA right next to the Mall of America, only about an hour from my home. Nope, I’ve never been to the MOA either. I have no interest in that sprawling place of consumerism.

We used to go to IKEA when we were on mat leave, and later, the toddlers or preschoolers would go to the playroom/daycare while us moms browsed and talked. Lunch was cheap and kid friendly and it was an easy and affordable outing.
Today I go if I need scissors. Or Christmas trees. 🙃

IKEA is deadly. We once went in to get some teaspoons, and came out with a 150 piece cutlery set. And a rug. And some shelves. And a drawer unit.

And that’s not the end of it because you have to assemble when you get home…🙄

LOL – I took a road trip too. And it involved food. Nope, not that exciting! Did you get a tree yet?

We went shopping today. I am so burnt out after so much grading. I did enjoy it. We bought a lottery ticket on the way home and I hit 3 of 4 numbers but didn’t win anything with Pick 4. I thought there were 80 ways to win and this is the last time I try this ticket. We argued incessantly as we raced to see if we had won more. Funny story. The holidays.

I have zero $ to spend there. But Ikea is like Costco, you go for 5 things you come home with 15…🙄😉

We have a Paris here in Texas too. I hope it’s a good day!

Really? Fun!
I remember a guy called in one day from somewhere when I was in customer service, saying he’s in Ontario and can’t find our training facility (for pilots). I said where in Ontario are you? He said ‘the town of Ontario in California’.
Ontario in Canada is a province and his training facility, where I was, was in Toronto…the people who booked him just picked an Ontario on the map and never checked the actual address. 🙂

Oh yeah, you have to be specific these days talking to a travel agent!
I was one for over 20 years and I have seen it all!

There was a movie called “Paris, Texas.” You might be able to catch it on netflix. Very good.

There’s a cool picture of my daughter I put in this blog post where she’s pushing a ring (not a puck) with her ringette stick (which is essentially a hockey stick without the blade). It’s fun! Also, I also never heard of it before either until one day during a hockey game someone approached her and asked her if she wanted to try ringette. Back then she was 5 or something and on a boys hockey team…
She never looked back.
