Do you see what this is?
Why yes, those are snow covered coolers.
There’s snow on my coolers because this is Canada and this year snow decided to come early.
But why are there coolers on my back porch in winter?
Because that’s where I store my food now.
Why would I do such an idiotic thing, you ask?
BECAUSE I OWN A SAMSUNG FRIDGE.
That’s why.
Sorry, I don’t mean to yell at you.
๐
So we invested $600 to fixing one part by one guy only to be told that a connecting part will also need to be replaced by another guy. This was months ago.
Second guy charged us for the part but not for labour. He told us horror stories about Samsung fridges. Also he’s practically a millionaire now because 95% of his work is on Samsung fridges. (Not really, but he made it sound like that).
Note: both repair dudes are not associated with Samsung. Samsung has no interest in their customers. My expat friend living in the USA today had similar issues and there are class action lawsuit against Samsung across the border because of their fridges.
Maybe we should start a trend.
And before you start crying to me about your ice maker, that thing is the least of our problems (and we found a way to keep it from breaking all the time. Turn it off.)
So, I’m a happy freaking camper here living the life of a pioneer with my food in coolers. ๐
Whatever. I’m pissed off at the inconvenience of having to defrost the fridge every few weeks to reboot the cooling mechanism that’s supposed to be fixed. And pissed off that we’re being ignored by Samsung’s horrible customer service. And pissed off that we’re continually flushing money down the toilet.
Did someone say something about Black Friday? Or maybe we should wait for Boxing Day sales and clearance items?
Whole situation is a pain in the ass.
But I do have something to look forward to today, just to turn this rant into something positive.
I’ll be walking my client’s poochie later today, first time in snow. My client says he does not appreciate wearing booties so if he will give me trouble over booties the way he does over his little coat he has to wear, well I’ll expect to have some entertaining stories to tell next time. ๐
How’s your Tuesday going? Hopefully better than mine.
I have a Samsung fridge. Yikes!!!!

The less fluff you have the less trouble you will have. We have a top fridge, a fridge drawer that’s separate from top, and a freezer on the bottom plus an ice maker. Theoretically all should run on separate mechanisms, not one, since all require different cooling measurements, so if you don’t have that you’re probably ok. We have a simple, smaller Samsung fridge in the garage that has no issues….๐

Based on your description it sounds like you and I have the same fridge. Double yikes!

blah. The day the warranty expired we were screwed.
My friend in the US (Chicago area) did say she had better luck with Samsung USA customer service than I did with Canada. So if something happens, my advice is to not delay reporting. She said it took 8 months but they did get a partial reimbursement for an ice maker issue…

We still have a year left on our warranty, thankfully, but I’m well aware that the ish usually hits the fan after the warranty expires. Like the day after. ๐

I’ve heard Samsung’s support for their smart tv sets is shit, so I’m not surprised that you’re having trouble. Assholes.

Ugh! I’m glad you wrote about this, honestly, because my husband gets all glassy eyed when he sees the Samsung refrigerators in stores. I’ll be sure and send him a link to your snow-covered coolers!

Don’t do it my friend. I had a Samsung phone, no issues, passed it to a kid. But fridges… you’ve been warned. ๐

Me and appliances have a love hate relationship anyway…mostly hate. ‘Cept my vacuums ๐๐๐ So I’ll stick with whatever easily serviceable 400lb paperweight that’s already in my kitchen.

Ah, Iโm so sorry about the continuing refrigerator saga.
One advantage of living in a cold climate is the ability to use the outdoors as a temporary fridge. Weโre on our third snowfall already here in Minnesota. Itโs way too early for snow and temps below zero.

It is easier than during the summer months, that’s for sure.

They say there’s only 3 manufacturers and they make all the brands.
