Random thoughts to get past a moody mood

The other day in the car we were listening to a soft rock station and this song Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi came on. I’m not really a fan of this song (but I do like some of Bon Jovi’s stuff) but this stupid song has been in my head for three days. Help me! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I want to go see the movie Bohemian Rhapsody with the kids but the kids are too young. Will wait for it to come out on Netflix.

I was on strike for a day and a half. When the shit hit the fan and everything fell apart on Monday afternoon I canceled practice to ‘help‘ a kid with math.

I can’t remember grade 6 math. ๐Ÿ™„

Strike is over now. But the post-strike mom is not the same mom from the pre-strike mom. BEWARE.

The sun is out for the first time in days. โ˜€ I appreciate this more than I can say because my daily lunch-time dog walking is so much better for me (and for poochie) during a sunny day than during a drizzly day. Yesterday, during the on-and-off-again rain, my pup couldn’t wait to get back to the house. โ˜”

Laundry will be the end of me. I have officially banned the use of the dryer unless absolutely necessary (and subject to my approval) and bought a rack to hang stuff on. We typically hang stuff up outside, but it’s too cold (and wet) now…and the old rack broke. The dryer is easy and no one pays attention to my pie chart posted to the wall when the electricity charges are cheaper. I demonstrated as well that hangers can be used for shirts and jerseys and the bathtub rail is the perfect place to hang those things to dry.ย  The electricity bill is too high and they better start paying attention to this stuff. Or else.

Dog walking is the least stressful job I have ever had.

It’s nice to get a paycheck for dog walking. Even though I used it for food and clothing for the teen.

This year I’m saving all my money from my birthday to spend on me. The One of a Kind craft show which will come to Toronto end of November will be the first place where I will spend some of that money.

I decided to bake Halloween cookies for the kids to take to school. The dough is made and chilling in the fridge, the sprinkles ready. Hope to bake this stuff this afternoon, before they’re all home and the running around for activities begins anew.

Sometimes, I hate youth sports.

I don’t really hate youth sports, but I’m so so sooo tired of the stress and scheduling and running around and drill sergeant-ing and we’re still at the beginning of it all. Boo.

My daughter is killing it in ringette. She scores hattricks in every game. Watching her develop her skating skills has been a joy and makes me sound like a hypocrite when I complain about youth sports.

I’m missing Valerie Bertinelli’s cooking show on the Food Network right now while I’m typing out this drivel. She’s my new favorite cook to watch for inspiration. I also like the Pioneer Woman and Jamie Oliver. And some others.

It’s Tuesday and everyone is not here. I love Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™ƒ
