Hot hot hot: on summer, labour day weekend and back to school lunches

It’s stupid hot today. I went to dump a large watering can of water on my cucumber plant and lost 10 pounds in sweat. ๐Ÿ™„

As if. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

I wish! ๐Ÿ˜

Then, I had a mini heart attack at the fighter jets zooming above me during the air show demonstrations. โค

Love love LOVE Canada’s Snowbirds! I’m lucky we live where we do because they fly over my house, so I can watch from my porch, or down by the pebble beach five minutes away. Or from my bedroom window because – ‘stupid hot’.

Fall is not here yet. But, back to school is. First day begins tomorrow. ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“

Yippie! ๐Ÿ˜Š

So in order to save me some time tomorrow morning, I made a huge grilled chicken couscous salad for lunch today, and scooped some into the kids’ thermoses.

School lunches are back ๐Ÿ˜ฎ but I’m ready.

As for the rest of this ‘stupid hot’ day? I can’t move my head to the left so I’ll just sit here and watch daytime TV with the a/c going until the painkillers kick in. My neck is killing me.

See you tomorrow!

  1. The mention of the jets reminds me of my childhood – we grew up next to a USAF base in the UK full of B52s. We eventually stopped hearing them, then would have visitors who would be shocked and run to the windows as they flew over – and we would stare at them, wondering what was going on ๐Ÿ™‚
