Pie for breakfast on Tuesday

I was going to blog about my stupid morning of non-stop issues involving kids and dogs and heavy knapsacks and detours and gifted pies, but I had to make coffee first.

Do you want to hear me moan and complain about yet another morning fiasco? Because that’s all I have today for blog fodder. I mean, I do have tonnes of topics in my draft folder, but none of the posts are readable yet, and I’m in no mood to edit at the moment.

So, I will share with you my pie instead.

This pie.

For some reason, my daughter’s friend’s mom didn’t want that pie and asked me if I wanted it. She handed it to me without a bag, in a box that wasn’t taped shut. We were running late and so I just took it with thanks and continued on with dog and girls.

There was a lot of stuff going on, and maneuvering a pie in a box was awkward especially because Molly stopped to sniff and pee every three steps or so. I usually let her do her thing but the schoolgirls were late and the pack was heavy on my back and when my daughter suggested they hop on the city bus instead of walking nine more blocks, I agreed. We had to detour and extend the walk (for me, not for them).

Of course this was the exact time the husband decided to start texting me about keys and getting locked out of the house. AND, to top it all off, I noticed the boy child was in the passenger seat of the car when they drove past me. This irritated me a tad since enabling that boy with a lift every day will not improve the lack of urgency in his mornings.

But I digress…

Long story short, the pie situation didn’t get any easier until I got home and actually had a piece. For breakfast. With coffee!

I feel much better now. And it is Tuesday, my favorite day of the week. 🙂

How was your morning?

  1. I have had mornings like that. This morning was one as I hurried bleary-eyed out the door to my 8:00 AM adjunct teaching gig with a slightly upset stomach gulping my coffee. The nicest was the morning went well albeit it the class is until 12:30. We came home and I made some homemade macaroni and we are getting ready for a quiet dinner after my husband and I napped for 2 hours. We were bushed. Sometimes life is like this. And we may remember the cherry pie fondly.

    1. Pastas are such a good quick meal, I love it, but if I’ve been eating carbs all day, a pasta dinner will make it very hard for me to get up the next morning. 😉 Thank you for commenting!
